Kirkby, William West: 1827-1907. Arrived at Red River and took charge of the Model Training School, 1852; ordained a Church of England clergyman by Bishop Anderson, 1854; served in the Mackenzie River district, 1859-1868; returned to England to restore his health (M.E.J., Dayspring in the far west). // Text in Chipewyan syllabics with syllabarium and chapter headings. Considered to be the first New Testament in Chipewyan.
